Accountabilities

 

  • Manage the development, approval and distribution of content for external communications channels, including press releases and statements.
  • Develop and deliver investor relations materials such as monthly & quarterly updates, and annual reports.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate, clear, and compelling financial messaging
  • Coordinate responses to media requests about the company, preparing written statements on the company’s behalf and having a regular exchange of information with the media
  • Identify positive PR story opportunities to promote the company, driving publicity.
  • Arranging and escorting media familiarisation trips, producing press packs and coordinating the media for events such as route launches.
  • Preparing speeches and scripts for the executive leadership team for media-related events and workshops.

  • Take responsibility for keeping press material up to date, feeding information on a proactive basis to the media and company stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage stakeholders, from executive level to departmental content owners, providing external communications advice.
  • Support corporate emergency procedures during disruption and major incidents as required.


Education & Experience

  • Higher Diploma or equivalent Degree or journalistic qualification in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of proven experience in external communications, with a strong focus on investor relations and financial communications.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to convey complex financial and corporate concepts clearly.
  • Experience within a listed company, financial institution or financial communications agency, as well as non-financial general corporate communications and consumer PR experience preferred
  • Strong media relations skills and established relationships with key media outlets, including financial press and general media.
  • Financial PR experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, demonstrating flexibility and strategic thinking.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and regulatory requirements for public companies.
  • Experience in crisis communications and handling sensitive financial issues is preferred.
  • Flexibility: the nature of the department’s work can result in the need to work extra unsociable hours with little or no notice.
